Project Location
The goal was to create a more connected environment that supports both everyday living and entertaining, while updating the overall look and functionality of the space.
Project Goals and Scope
The primary objective of this project was to open up the interior by removing existing partitions and expanding the kitchen footprint. In addition to improving spatial flow, the renovation included a full update of the main living level.
Key goals included:
- Opening interior spaces for better flow and connectivity
- Expanding the existing kitchen layout
- Remodeling the entire level of the townhouse
- Enhancing the living area with updated features
Technical Challenges and Solutions
During the renovation, existing plumbing and mechanical (HVAC) systems were discovered within interior walls that were planned for removal.
To proceed with the design goals, these systems had to be carefully addressed. The team developed solutions to:
- Relocate and reroute plumbing systems
- Adjust mechanical and HVAC components
- Ensure all systems continued to function properly within the new layout
This level of coordination was essential to successfully opening the space while maintaining the integrity of the home’s systems.
Key Features of the Renovation
The transformation focused on both functionality and upgraded living experience. The main features of the project included:
- Expanded kitchen layout to improve usability
- New kitchen island serving as a central feature
- Custom built-in electric fireplace with integrated storage in the living area
These elements helped define the new open-concept layout and improved how the space is used daily.
Outcome
By removing interior barriers and reconfiguring the layout, the renovation significantly improved both the functionality and feel of the home. The updated space now offers a more open, cohesive environment that better supports modern living.
